Set spectacularly high in the “Arc” mountains, Les Arcs is a wonderful, modern resort filled with inspiring skiing. Seventy-six lifts connect to cover a massive ski area of 200 kms of pistes, including the Aiguille Rouge Glacier, guaranteeing snow. The resort comprises 3 self-contained villages at different heights: Arc 1800 is the largest village, with a lively atmosphere and excellent access to the skiing. Arc 2000 is the newest base and popular with experienced skiers, with skiing to and from the doorstep. Arc 1600 nestles below the other two and has a real village atmosphere.

• Good après ski in Arc 1800, more limited in Arc 2000 but nevertheless chic and cheerful. • Red Hot Saloon Bar with live music in 1800, Blue Bar for a lively, informal atmosphere and more live music in 2000. Discos include the Apocalypse in 1800 and The KL92 in Arc 2000..

• Fantastic choice in Arc 1800 • Meat or cheese fondue for around €20 to €23 including wine and dessert. • Marloup for tasty fish dishes, Bellefume for grills, Red Rock Bar for great burgers. Try Gargantus in 1800 for regional dishes, St Jacques in 2000 for French ambiance or the “Triangle Noir” for pizzas and local specialities
